Eclectic and esoteric, William is an avant composer, soundscape weaver and sonic wizard. He draws on his experiences as a proud queer autistic Gubbi Gubbi man to create worlds of effortless magic and musical journey. William produces these worlds with keyboard instruments like analog synths, music box, glockenspiel or accordion, and through influences from experimental composers such as Terry Riley, Pauline Oliveros and Julius Eastman, as well as contemporaries like Zoe Keating and Nils Frahm. Through these elements he carves out his own brand of contemporary Australian minimalism. Filled with electric pulses or sublime textures Diimpa’s music is, at its heart, transcendent.

William has independently recorded & released three EPs and two albums ‘Metamorphica’ and ‘Spectrum’ suffused with original compositions and improvisation. He’s been performing these compositions live since 2012; as well as had compositional work featured in local independent film and theatre works. William's keen interest in durational pieces has seen him perform 8 hour improvisations as part of Yirramboi Festival, Blakheart Festival, and ‘Sustenance’ at Arts Centre Melbourne for Fringe Festival. He is currently working on his next record ‘Wasteland’, about the lack of government initiative to tackle climate change.
